With an intention to address permanent labor scarcities in Canada, in the recently released report, the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB) is calling for new visa that would replace the existing Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP) by providing path to permanent residency for entry level overseas employees.
The CFIB’s proposed Introduction of Canada Visa is a permanent solution to address the acute labor shortages for small business and offers a pathway to Canadian permanent residency for overseas employees.
Canada is an abode for people who are ready to get a chance, enter the country and work hard to get better career opportunities and begin a new life along with their families.
The president of CFIB, Dan Kelly, said that the idea of Introduction to Canada Visa as a replacement to the TFWP would announce better opportunities once again.
The misconceptions and other issues on TFWP, has brought several reforms, which leads to stop of lifeline for employers and are barred from program, especially for the employers in the hotel, restaurant and retail sectors. Now, the move of Introduction to Canada Visa has become a strong long-term solution for the employers who are desperate for relief.
The suggested new visa plan would offer access for foreign employees in entry-level categories as an opportunity to work with an employer for a period of two years as a definite step towards permanent residency. The other aspects includes that the employer should have one native employee with the same pay and so on.
Besides the Introduction to Canada Visa, the report also proposes other options, which includes enabling existing applicants for permanent residency to wait till the processing gets completed, recalibrating the new fee to $1,000, enabling flexibility for retailers, restaurants and hotels and reducing the target for 10% labor force cap on overseas workers.
