The changes in the UK Immigration laws for business visitors will permit employees of companies to do a short-term course of study or engage in corporate training delivered by an outside company. Further, changes to the ICT (Intra-Company Transfer) route will allow employees who are already on this visa to extend it without a language test.
Partner of the firm Mishcon de Reya Solicitors based in London, Kamal Rahman, said that they welcome the revision to the business visitor route as it allows business visitors to undertake corporate training and internal audits from companies outside their own.
Earlier, there was a rule that restricted employee ownership to not more than 10% of the sponsor's business. However, after the new changes, this will not affect employees who earn more than £152,000 a year.
Kamal Rahman feels that this relaxed law is a step in the right direction and will help senior employees who, as a part of their salary package, are offered share incentives.
The relaxation of the English test is a huge relief for Indian companies who send employees to the UK on ICT visas.
