China is set to issue more number of “talent visas" to highly qualified professionals from across the globe, as the nation is currently in need of them.
Earlier in 2013, China started issuing “talent visas” also called as R Visa to the overseas highly qualified professionals, who are limited in number and are of high priority to the nation.
R visa holders take the privilege of staying in the country for a longer period .This visa provides more convenience means to enter and work in the country. Family members of these visa holders can also be provided with an ordinary visa.
Earlier, China selected R visa applicants primarily from ‘Recruitment Program for Global Expert’ also called as "Thousand Talents" plan launched by the government. In the coming times, visas will also be granted to overseas nationals, who are included in high-level recruitment programs. Since 2008, China received an aggregate of 4,180 overseas experts under ‘Thousand Talents’ plan. China’s act to ease its green card scheme depicts its dedication towards welcoming international talent into the country.
Since the launch of the green card system in 2004, around 5,000 overseas nationals have been issued green cards till 2012.
