The news regarding the permanent residence status of the first couple of successful candidates who had applied for Canadian immigration is out. Following this, the Citizenship and Immigration Canada or CIC has let out its result of the latest Express Entry draw. The Eighth draw issued 715 invitations to candidates to apply for permanent residence status after they scored the required 453 points or more in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).
The eighth draw was the fourth such round one after the other which did not lay stress on candidates holding a valid job offer or even a provincial nomination at the time they were picked up from the Express Entry pool. This was in stark contrast with the first four draws wherein there was a requirement of either a Canadian job offer or a provincial nomination.
Applicants are eligible to apply for any one of the following economic immigration programs-the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Program and the Canadian Experience Class. The ranking in the Express Entry pool is based on the CRS. The top ranked candidates are selected by the CIC to apply for permanent residence within 60 days of receiving the invitation to apply. The Canadian government then processes these applications within a period of six months.
