For the sixteenth time, the global auditing company Ernst & Young awards the prize Danish Entrepreneur of the Year. This year a record-setting 1.000 companies have qualified for the competition illustrating that Danish entrepreneurship is thriving, reports the Danish Chamber of Commerce
The Ernst & Young award differs from most growth competitions. In addition to assessing the companies’ ability to generate economic growth, the prize is also awarded for social responsibility and engagement.
Last year 700 enterprises qualified for the competition. The increase in participants indicates a positive development in Denmark’s ability to foster start-up businesses.
-Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award is a tribute to the brightest and most innovative Danish companies.
To find the right winner, we complete profound interviews with the CEOs of all participating companies to evaluate the company’s business case, the ability to exploit own potential, and employee working conditions. This gives us a balanced picture and a solid basis for the independent jury’s assessment, says Carsten Collin, Director for Entrepreneurship of the Year in Denmark.
The Danish Chamber of Commerce views the entrepreneur award as an ideal way to emphasize the need for growth and strongly believes the award is here to stay.
-To keep our global competitiveness, we need to support the growth culture in Denmark. The Entrepreneur of the Year Award supports this focus by drawing attention to the framework conditions and opportunities for Danish entrepreneurs, says Market Director in Danish Chamber of Commerce, Søren Friis Larsen.
