The Global Location Trends report which measures quality and value of inward investments ranked Denmark 2nd in its 2013 report.
This ranking confirms the position of Denmark as a tempting destination for knowledge-based investments. The annual Global Location Trends report of IBM outlines core trends in the selection of corporate location and overseas investment. Denmark is ranked 2nd in the world in 2013 edition determined by the added knowledge and value intensity of the jobs created by overseas investment projects. Nick Hækkerup, the Danish Minister for Trade and European Affairs, welcomes the report:
Nick Hækkerup said that the 2013 ranking affirms that when it comes to value and quality of inward investment, Denmark is a top performer, specifically because of the skilled labor force, innovative industry clusters and vibrant R&D environment of Denmark.
Demark jumped from last year’s 3rd place in the 2013 report, and this is mainly because of high-value investments in primary sectors like Life Science and ICT. The list is topped by Ireland, followed by Denmark (2), Singapore (3), South Korea (4) and United Kingdom (5).
Nick Hækkerup added that Denmark will not rest and will strive to improve the conditions of the framework for business investments to ensure that the perfect talent pool is accessible and available to investors.
The Institute for Business Value of IBM publishes the Global Location Trends report annually. A value to each investment project is assigned by an FDI value indicator, depending on the type and sector of business activity. This value indicator analyzes the added knowledge and value intensity of the jobs created by the particular investment project. The data is taken from IBM’s GILD (Global Investment Locations Database), which tracks the announcements of a company on investment decisions, along with country-specific data.
