Denmark Passes The Bill Of Citizenship

On Tuesday, the Dual citizenship has become reality. As per the new law, which comes into effect on 1^st September , it will allow the foreigners living in Denmark to get  Danish citizenship without meeting one of the exemption and without having to forsake their home nation as well.

 In December 2014, before the parliament passing the law, which allows the dual citizenship. Denmark was considered to be last among the EU nation to normally allow the dual citizenship from process of  naturalization. Eventhough, we find that there are few exceptions to the existing rule, we find that most of the foreigners were asked to renounce their existing citizenship in order to become a Danish citizen. Similarly we find  Danes who are  living in the foreign nation, must give up their Danish citizenship  before taking the new one. 

Similarly, within the previous 5 years, all Danes who are willing to give up their Danish Citizenship, they can reinstate it and also expats who previously applied for the Danish citizen in the last 2 years but at the same time, not given up the original citizenship, need not do it.

The global association of the Danish expatriates, Danes worldwide has told the media, that when bill of dual citizenship was passed, it an issue, which the group has been working since a decade.

The General secretary, Anne Dalgaard added,  It is good news to the people who tend to stay away from motherland, where they were actually born. We find Danes who are  living abroad or expats who are presently live in Denmark, will presently be able to retain identity. At the same time, they can actively participate in adopted culture. The organization general secretary, Anne Marie Dalgaard said.

On Tuesday, in association with the Politiken Newspaper, the Danes worldwide is in celebration mood as there has been law change and it plans to party.

Danes worldwide is not only having celebration Copenhagen, which is from 5:30 Pm to 9:30 pm, it is holding nearing to 10 other events across world, in varied other location which includes Brazil, US, Turkey and Oman.
