Christian Friis Bach, the Minister for Development Cooperation has laid a plan for overall development of Denmark. The plan will concentrate on four main areas: human rights and democracy, social progress, green growth, and social and economic stability and protection.
Human rights protection and democracy:
Freedom of expression, better governance, accountability, and transparency will be the focus areas for the government. Government funds will be utilized in a proper and organized manner to tackle corruption and offer better public service. Gender equality and steps to reduce gender discrimination and reproductive rights of women will also be concentrated. Right to land for women is an issue which also needs to be addressed.
Green environment and social progress
Natural resources of Denmark will be used wisely to make Denmark a green country in the coming years. Sustainable and renewable energy will be made more useful.
Denmark wants to spread its social services to developing countries. The country will help in development of health care facilities, and education.
Stability and protection
Denmark is determined to strengthen its bond with other countries by offering social services in diversified sector.
Problem like food insecurity will be addressed through social protection schemes; Denmark will also build facilities to combat natural disasters. Denmark aims to bring other countries with same interest under one roof and take these social security steps further.
Denmark wants to spread peace, offer new investments and opportunities, and combats crime and climate change for developing nations.
