Dl Tell Polls, Denmark Need Foreigners

As the election campaign is taking distinctly anti-immigrant flavor, the industry leaders have again warned that, the  dependence on foreigners by Denmark usually demonized.

 Only ten days to go for Denmark’s election campaign, the dominating central issue of the debate, include the significant role of foreigners in the Danish workforce.

The social democrats as well as Leading parties Venstre have argued over, as to how many of the jobs created during PM Helle Thoring –Schmidt’s govt  have really  taken over by the foreigners than Danes. Thus, it can be observed that, the Danish people’s party want to make it very hard for the Danish companies to recruit the foreign workers, while the left wing parties bemoan the fact that the Eastern European are taking only low paying jobs.

We find politicians seemingly competing to check who has the potential to put the biggest wall between the Denmark and the rest of the world.  The Danish industry also has warned that the nation cannot simply get away without the foreign workers.

The confederation of the Danish Industry has stated over the weekend, that there are just not enough Danes  to meet the Country’s future needs and few industries have already become fully dependent on the ability to bring in workers from abroad.

DI’S deputy director Steen Nielson has told the broadcaster DR, that there is absolutely no doubt on as to whether we need a foreigner to work in the Danish companies, if we were to continue with the upswing that is underway.

Presently there are 74000, few Danes than in 2008 and therefore we find an increasing need for the people from the outside to solve the problems in the companies. That is the primary explanation as where there are so many more foreigners in the workforce. We need them, he added.

Neilsen has stated that, while there is a great demand for highly specialized foreigners such as Engineers and IT specialists. The Danish companies have also completely dependent on the foreigners to fill the manual labour jobs.

In few sectors, one could not run a business if it wasn’t for the foreigners. Neilsen said, pointing to the transport, agriculture and cleaning industries.

The DI has been a consistent proponent for changing the negative tone towards the foreigners that dominates the Danish political as well as media debates.

In September, DI’s CEO Karsten Dybvad spent the organization’s annual meeting driving  home an message that Foreigners workers are not liability but foremost gain for the Denmark.

Dybvad further added, those foreigners who come to this nation for work do not bring Denmark down, instead they lift  the nation up.

Since last week, a string of business leaders has spoken out to criticize the way the politicians speak about the foreigners.

Di’s Nielsen once again has reiterated that the foreign workers are  must for Denmark’s future.

We do not have a particularly high unemployment here at the threshold of the economic recovery. It would not be long until the resources in terms of manpower have been exhausted here at home. We will stall out in terms of growth if we cannot get the foreign manpower. He told the DR.
