Dubai Medical Tourism, supported by Dubai Health Authority , Dubai Healthcare City as well as a number of government and private sector stakeholders, is taking part in two international tourism congresses.
DHA along with its stakeholders will showcase the medical facilities of the Emirate at the Moscow Medical and Health Tourism Congress, which is an ongoing congress and the International Medical Travel and Exhibition Conference (IMTEC) 2013 that takes place in Monaco on the 22-23rd March 2013.
The aim of taking part in these international conferences is to further bolster the medical tourism initiative and to showcase the excellent medical facilities that are available for medical tourists.
At the conferences, DHA will provide a listing and brief profile of elective procedures and treatments available in Dubai for medical tourists. The DHA's partners in this initiative include DHCC, Dubai Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) and leading hospitals in the Emirate.
Dubai offers an array of high-quality medical facilities and the aim of the Dubai Medical Tourism initiative is to support and promote centres of healthcare excellence which are available in Dubai such as orthopaedic and spine surgeries, dermatology and alternative medicine, wellness and spa treatments, LASIK procedures as well as aesthetic, cosmetic and dental procedures. All these facilities adhere to stringent regulations, ensuring quality healthcare, which is at the heart of the medical tourism initiative. In addition, Dubai has an excellent tourism and travel infrastructure in place, world-renowned leisure and entertainment options and is known for hospitality, making it a preferred health and wellness destination.
Dubai has over 6,750 physicians speaking over 60 different languages and DHA is working with health, hospitality and tourism sectors in the Emirate for the long-term medical tourism initiative. The multicultural social fabric and the absence of language barriers given Dubai's diversity across cross sections of society provides an opportunity for the growth of the health and wellness sector.
All these parameters provide an impetus to the medical tourism initiative. Participation in such congresses is a tool to exchange state-of-the art information, network and discuss partnership opportunities.
