Dubais 2nd Quarter BCI Reaches 120.7

According to Department of Economic Development (DED), Dubai’s Business Confidence Index (BCI) reached 120.7 points in the Second Quarter of 2013 which is a 14.6 points increase from the same period last year with a 6.7 points increase between the first two quarters of 2013. During the third quarter of this year, more than 83% of the businesses in Dubai are expecting an increase in sales volume. Therefore, most of the businesses are planning to invest in recruitment and/or technology upgrades which will add efficiency to their value chain. 53% of the businesses are planning for technology upgrades, which is 22% more than previous year. Compared to the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), export firms and larger enterprises are more confident about the increase in prices, profitability, and sales volumes.
