EB-1 Visa Proposed In US

America may not have ever felt brain drain. But perhaps for the first time, there are misgivings being expressed on account of loss of talent by way of Massachusetts Institute of Technology students leaving the country after the completion of their respective student programs. First, not all MIT students are American, as the Institute swears by merit and talent.

Even if some of the students want to settle down and start their own enterprises, there is no way they can do it, because once their student visa expires and no job is found under H-1B, they will have to go back to their respective countries. This is being viewed as serious lacuna in the immigration program.

The only way the merited students can be retained, it is now felt, is by finding a method to keep them in the country. In this respect, a new visa regime, called EB-1, for this extraordinary category of students is being mooted. By this they can not only stay in the country, but offer their entrepreneurial services that will ensure the US perpetual prosperity.

There are no prizes for guessing, but who will bag the most number of EB-1 visas whenever these are introduced?
