Electricity Yield At All Time High In Norway

The electricity produced in Norway in the first half of 2012 is 76.4 TWh, a 31% more than the same period last year. This has broken all time records. This is the highest output ever recorded since the start of monthly electricity statistics in 1979.

The rainfalls of 2011 filled the Norwegian reservoirs, and this resulted in high electricity output. The additional electricity is exported to other countries. Total power exported in the first half of 2012 is a massive total of 11.6 TWh. Norwegian low prices were also responsible for the increase in exports.

Along with its other exports like seafood, petroleum and natural gas, Norway is also gaining the top spot in export of electrical energy. This increase in exports is changing the face of Norway in the world market. Economy and employment are linked and directly proportional to each other.
