Australian Bureau of Statistics revealed that a total of 45,900 jobs were created in June 2010 helping the unemployment rate become stable at 5.1 percent. And, this touched a 17 month low which resulted in giving a push to household incomes. This positive sign is good news for those wanting to immigrate to Australia in the near future. Australian dollar went up by half cent. The unemployment rate has come down to 5.1 percent after reaching 5.8 percent in the month of October last year. The present unemployment rate in Australia is nearly half of the jobless rate in European or US zone and it is lowest since the month of January 2009.
Glenn Steven, the governor of Reserve bank mentioned that the official date of the ABS appears to be quite an upbeat. And, this indicated the improvements in the Australian labor market along with an upward trend in inflation and improvements in the business investment.
In the month of June 2010, 11.1 million people were employed on different jobs in Australia. A total of 27,500 new part-time jobs were created in the month of June 2010. The sectors which had major number of jobs were health sector, scientific, technical, professional services, restaurants and hotels and the last being the public sector. ABS reported that the brightening up employment scene is in sharp contrast to the unending jobless situations in several other developed countries. Many jobs were created in mining industry helping the economy of the nation. This sector gives employment just to 1.6 percent people in the nation, but many get jobs in the LNG plants and mines.
