The government in Canada, headed by PM Justin Trudeau, in its federal budget for 2018 has committed massive funding for new immigrants.

$400 MILLION TO STRENGTHEN LANGUAGES

There is a commitment of $400 million for the next three years in this section for supporting an Action Plan for Official Languages. The government will opt for funding to help the immigrants to improve the skills in English and French. This will improve the integration and settlement process of immigrants. $4.6 MILLION FOR START-UP VISA PROGRAM
The Start-up Visa Program permits global Entrepreneurs to immigrate to Canada and start new businesses having a spirit of innovation and creativity required to succeed at the global level. The program began as a pilot and has met with the success which has prompted the authorities to make this program a permanent pathway to seek PR. Such entrepreneurs can use their experience to become Prs.
There is a commitment of $4.6 million for supporting the growth of the Start-up Visa Program. The funds would be used to improve client-service experience and ensure all applicants, partners of the private sector and officials to process application electronically in an efficient manner.
$173 MILLION FOR ASYLUM SEEKERS
2017 saw an increase in the number of people arriving in Canada as asylum seekers. They were fleeing poor conditions in their countries of residence. The government committed $173 million to help to process claims of asylum seekers in the next two years. Canada has made a commitment in a comprehensive manner to have great economic growth and has supported all types of equality. The new immigrants will play a vital role in shaping Canada.
