The government of France has intentions of announcing over 300 scholarships of excellence that are worth more than 1 million euors, for the academic year 2014-15. The students, who belong to any field or subject and have attained their bachelor’s Masters and PhD, are allowed to file their applications for these scholarships.
A spokesman from the French embassy has said that the government of France is eager to gladly receive the students from India across a broad range of fields such as management, engineering, and design. As a part of the scholarship programme, students would be provided stipend to cover their everyday expenses, a student visa would be available for free, medical insurance would be covered and the students would also be rendered help in locating an accommodation for affordable prices in France.
The students from India are considering France as the most sought after destination for academics. Highly developed facilities of research, limited number of students in the classrooms are some of the finest attractions in France for students and also, the country holds a renowned heritage of academics world-wide. In France, about 800 courses are being taught in English, due to which, there had been a rush of 50 percent in the past 2 to 3 years, in the total number of students from India, who have been frequenting France. The ambassador of France to India, Francois Richier has said that currently 2,600 students are choosing France as their destination for pursuing studies and that he was hopeful that this figure would be doubled in the next 5 years.
