As we are aware, some changes have been introduced to Denmark Greencard Scheme with regards to stay in Denmark during the residence permit. Any new applications handed in after 1st August 2010, a first time residence permit will be granted for 18 months only under the Greencard scheme. However, before the end of this period, a new application can be put forward for an extension, upto 2 years and 6 months. Before the end of his period, you can apply for an extension of up to four years.
A residence permit can be extended if the applicant has worked for the past 12 months for a minimum of ten hours per week. Also, the residence permit can be extended for one year if the applicant has lost a job without his/her fault (e.g., due to cutbacks). However, it should not be more than 3 months before applying for an extension. Also, you should have worked for 12 months for a minimum of ten hours per week. Old applications– handed in before the 1 of August - will still have three-year permission.
