As per several industry analysts, Australia is currently experiencing shortage of workforce due to immigrations cuts by the Australian government although the proposed cap of annual immigration in Australia is yet to be imposed. The total workforce in the housing industry is provided by Australian immigration.
Harley Dale, the chief economist of HIA(Housing Industry Association), admitted the fact that Australia is currently having shortage of skilled labor and the condition is only going to become more grave for Australia as the Australian economy heads towards growth in the coming times causing a higher demand for workers in Australia.
A recent survey by ABS (Australian Bureau of Statistics) shows that Australia is slowly recovering from recession and is showing signs of growth. This growth will demand increase in work and work force and wage pressures. There has been a growth in GDP along with increase in mining, technical, construction and professional services.
Australian growth rate can be positive news for immigrants as the demand of workforce would increase.
The mining staff already has higher average wages in Australia and the wages are further expected to increase following labor shortage, he added.
