High Labor Productivity: Austria Ranked 3rd In The EU

Austria ranks third among the 27 EU member states with respect to labor productivity per employee in manufacturing industry. According to a report entitled “Industrial Policy: Reinforcing Competitiveness” presented by EU Industry Commissioner Antonio Tajani, the leader in labor productivity is Ireland, followed by the Netherlands and Austria. Bulgaria was given the lowest ranking. The EU Commission noted Austria’s good performance with regards to economic competitiveness and labor productivity, which is significantly above the EU average.
