Institute Of Electrical And Electronics Engineers (IEEE)-USA Mulls For Stricter H1B Visa Regulations

American professional organization for engineers is planning to implement stricter H-1B visa rules. If these rules would be implemented, it would allow only highly skilled immigrants with genuine education and work experience to move to USA.

"This, along with increasing the number of green cards available to high-skill workers, would strengthen job retention and creation in the United States,"

The tough regulations are proposed by the largest body of electrical and electronics engineers in the US, IEEE-USA.

If the bill is passed by USA government, it would make H-1B and L-1 visa programs simpler and faster for genuine skilled applicants and would also help reduce fraud and abuse.

The H-1B and L-1 Visa Reform Act of 2013 ensures that H-1B application filed by an company that employs 50 or more American workers and would not be accepted unless the employer attests that less than 50 per cent of the employer's workforce are H-1B and L visa holders.
