Ireland is benefiting the most from the recent restrictions imposed by Britain on foreign students. Ireland has launched a promotional campaign along with the Bollywood Bluckbuster “Ek Tha Tiger” to inspire Indian students to take up courses in Universities of Ireland.
The movie was partly short in Ireland. The famous landmarks of Dublin like the Dublin University, Temple Bar and the Ha'penny Bridge, and the main entrance to Trinity College were some of the places being highlighted in the movie. The famous song “Banjara Banjara” was shot in front of Front Square.
Jane Ohlmeyer, vice-provost for global relations at Trinity College, Dublin, said, "We're keen to emphasize that the British government is making it increasingly difficult for students from India to study in the UK, but the Irish government is a step ahead and making it easier."
Universities and colleges from Ireland are holding special counseling sessions on courses and Ireland student visa in major cities of India. Jane Ohlmever and her team are screening the film to Indian students during student recruitment drive in Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata, and Delhi.
Jane Ohlmever added that “We're running summer camps for 16 and 17-year-olds in the Science Gallery. If we can get the top Indian students over to Ireland at that age, when they're making choices about where they go to university, Trinity is what they will think of,"
Ireland universities have always tried to gain attention from Indian students for their talent, creativity and hard work. The movie “Ek Tha Tiger” has acted as a perfect launch pad for Ireland.
Students willing to study in Ireland should take up courses and programs as all of them are in English and you do not have any language barriers.
Universities are interested in postgraduates and undergraduates. The institutions are offering courses in diverse areas including arts, history or sociology, medicine, computer science, and health science.
