Ireland Invests 300 Million Euros In 7 New Research Centers

Irish government announced an investment of substantial 300 million Euros for seven new research centers and to promote research talent.

"The negative side to my mind is how all the money is now allocated in such a tightly focused way by interests outside science. Basic research as I understand the concept is now excluded,"

Ireland Immigration has a special visa scheme for foreigners to come to the country for research related activities.

Visa requirements for researchers are:

• Passport, valid for at least 12 months
• Hosting Agreement with accredited Research Organisation
• Contract of employment if issued by the Research Organisation
• Bank statement
