Immigration News

To consider a few of the most critical choices made by job seekers while choosing a career and to provide the framework for a comparison of jobs within the same industry, an annual US jobs ranking is published by U.S. News. These rankings are based on the predictions by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) about the jobs which need to grow exponentially and rapidly than the average rate between 2012 and 2022.

There have been shake-ups for the year 2014. The BLS has taken a closer look at where the most expected opportunities are. This year, US News has ranked 18 new jobs, while 19 jobs were dislodged from the list completely, and the biggest change is that for the first time, the overall No. 1 job is a tech job in US and not from the health care industry.

Technology

From the 7th position in 2013, Software Developers in US raised to the top spot this year, making it the most attractive job. The demand for Software developers in US is expected to increase 23% by 2022. Also, the continuing and rising dependence on mobile software has created superb job opportunity for software developers with a median salary of $90,060 in 2012.

At 11th position, the new tech job to join the US job rankings of 2014 is ‘Information Security Analyst’, and according to the BLS, a 36.5% rise in this field is expected between 2012 and 2022. With the prospects of tech jobs in US so good, the desirable candidates must have an all-around computer education and some prior work experience in IT. Certifications will also make you a top applicant.

Health Care

Health Care jobs in US have more openings than applicants. CEO of Challenger, Gray & Christmas, Inc., John Challenger said that right now, the strongest job area of the economy is Health Care. Registered Nurses in US are in much demand and at a rate of 19.4%, 526,800 new positions may be created in this sector. This year, Registered Nurses in US take 6th place.

Also, two new nursing positions are added to the rankings this year. Nurse Practitioners stand at No. 4, with glowing job prospects and a median salary of $89,960. The Health Care job in US of ‘Licensed Practical and Licensed Vocational Nurse’ stands at No. 38, and may rise at a rate of 25%, with the most encouraging prospects for people willing to work in rural areas.
