The 13th Canada Express Entry draw seeking candidates to get the PR Status  in 2018 was held on 25th June 2018. 3,750 candidates received the invitation to apply. The Comprehensive Ranking System cut-off score in this draw was 442 points. This shows a decrease of nine points compared to the previous draw of June 13th. Similar to the recent draws, it applied the tie-break system.
 
Moreover, because of  the presence of multiple candidates scoring 442 CRS points, all candidates having a profile in the pool, for a fairly long period got the priority. Especially the eligible candidates scoring 442 points having a profile in the pool before January 28th, 2018 at 21:06:11 UTC received the invitation in this latest draw. Additionally after this draw the total nvitations issued during 2018 stands at 39,700.
 
This draw has come as a surprise to the candidates, owing to its happening on a Monday morning. Traditionally, EE draws usually take place on Wednesdays.
 

Plans of the Canadian Government

 
On November 1, 2017, the government disclosed its Canada Immigration Plan for 2018-20. It outlined  committing  towards increasing  the numbers by using the Federal Skilled Worker Class, Canadian Experience Class, and Federal Skilled Trades Class to nearly 250,000 in the future of three years only. It will also attract 184,000 permanent residents, for settling by using the Provincial Nominee Programs before December 2020. There is a likelihood of issuing many invitations in the future also. This will benefit families and individuals around the world who wish settle in Canada.
 

Some facts about Canada CRS

The Comprehensive Ranking System gives a score out of 1,200 points and serves as a benchmark for applicants in federal economic programs. It is also an essential part of the Express Entry mechanism, established in Jan 2015 for processing residency applications.
 
The score serves as a cut-off point in the draws of Express Entry. It projects and improves the chances of a candidate to become economically successful in the country.
 
Furthermore, for entering the pool, the candidate must gain eligibility under the Federal Skilled Trades Class, the Federal Skilled Worker Class, or in Canadian Experience Class.
 
Candidates successful in obtaining the provincial nomination through Provincial Nominee Program streams which are in alignment with the EE  get 600 extra CRS points and also an ITA in a future draw.
 
A candidate can earn 260 points for proficiency in English/French, and couples can earn 270 points.
