In a speech on population, congestion, and planning of infrastructure, the Urban, Cities Infrastructure and Population Minister, Hon Alan Tudge, urged fellow politicians and the media on immigration policies of Australia, in specific congestion in extremely populated areas and a drive to require new immigrants to reside in regional areas for a period in the hope they will live there on the basis of long-term. The NSW Premier, Gladys Berejiklian, then pulled in, asking for migration to the state to be divided, citing the issues of infrastructure.
Australia’s 03 biggest population centers (Melbourne, Sydney, and South East Queensland) have been increasing at a substantial rate above the past several years while minor populated regions and states find it challenging to bring proper workers. The only visas that get close, and as earlier reported, is the Skilled Regional visa (Subclass 489) and their necessary visa requirements 8539 and 8549, which need these visa holders to reside, work and study in a regional area.
Failure to satisfy these requirements could see their visa canceled, however, further importantly, because subclass 489 visas are provisional, not following with these requirements may limit the visa holder from satisfying the needs for a Subclass 887 - Skilled Regional permanent visa.
For the permanent visas of 190,000 to be awarded this fiscal year, Specifically, family visas could be a tricky proposition because it could run opposite the direction of these visas, particularly family reunion.
The outstanding and glaringly apparent target is the GSM visas, which contains a sum of 72,840 positions and where candidates can be awarded a Skilled Independent (Subclass 189) or Skilled Nominated visa (Subclass 190) without having enrolled Australia earlier.
