Lee Kuan Yew Out Of Hospital

The founder of Singapore, Lee Kuan yew, who modernized Singapore from a sleepy and corrupt city after it broke away from Malaysia owing to majority Chinese population to one of the super-rich, has given a fright to all his well-wishers both at home and abroad by showing symptoms of an impending stroke leading to his hospitalization. Now, the doctors have checked and treated him, giving him the all- right signal. With Lee's discharge from the hospital, not only the people of Singapore but his admirers abroad have heaved a sigh of relief.

Lee is famous for his brand of administered democracy, which entails democracy progressing in the way it should be on the path laid and mapped out in absolute discipline. The chosen path has worked well for Singapore that has made it one of richest countries. The joke doing the rounds in the city state is that if you dare to throw a bottle up in any Singapore street, it would invariably fall on a millionaire, not excluding the possibility of the bottle hitting an odd billionaire as well.

Lee thus spawned a city state of millionaires, and none will disagree with the view. Going back to throwing the bottle up, please consider it only a joke. For, if anyone tries to do so, he is very likely to be spotted and caned to boot. Caning is punishment that has ensured clean city life in Singapore. The punishment for even greater crimes such as serial theft and robbery, the Chinese lawmakers are trying to adopt the Singapore example.
