Lottery System Adopted By Canada Immigration To Issue Visas

If one talks about lottery system in immigration without any doubt they are talking about the famous USA H1-B visa, which works on picking up the lucky applicants from the applications to give them an opportunity for further process. Now the same is being adopted by Canada immigration to issue visas.

Canada adopted lottery system but only for reuniting immigrants with parents and grandparents.  Earlier these type of visas were issued on first come first serve basis, as the number of applications received are in higher number when compared to the available quota which is creating a backlog in applications. This lottery system which is coming into effect from new-year will help clearing the backlog applications. “We are listening to what past applicants had to say and making process fairer for people who want to sponsor their parents or grandparents,” immigration Minister John McCallum said in announcement.

Between January 3^rd 2017 and February 2^nd 2017, Canadian citizens and permanent residents who want to sponsor their parents or grandparents will be required to complete and online application form on the IRCC website within 30 days.
