Malaysia has received around 11.53 million foreign tourists during January-May period, revealing an increase of 10.1 percent compared to the equivalent period previous year.
Deputy Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said that the nation has taken several measures to renew tourists confidence by exempting tourists from China, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka to pay visa costs for single entry for last quarter of 2014 and 2015.
The government has set a target of 29.4 million arrival of tourists with a returns of RM89 billion for the next year, the minister added.
Foreign tourist’s arrival in the country has revealed an increase of 2.7 percent in 2013 accounting for 25.72 million as compared to 25.03 million in 2012.
