Manitoba Immigration: Latest Draw Issues 242 Invitations For Canada PR

Manitoba Provincial Immigration has carried out a round of invitations to immigration aspirants who submitted their Expression of Interest profiles to the Manitoba provincial nominee program.

On 13 Feb 2020, the Manitoba PNP invited 242 aspirants to apply for a Manitoba provincial nomination for Canada PR. This is Manitoba provincial second draw in the span of two weeks.

The invitations to apply, or Letters of Advice to Apply, went to applicants in the three provincial streams which listed below:

• Skilled Workers in Manitoba Category: 182 ITAs
• Skilled Workers Overseas Category: 27 ITAs
• International Education Category: 33 ITAs

In the total 242 LAAs issued, 15 went to candidates in the Express Entry pool.

Manitoba Expression of Interest

An E.O.I is an online profile that provides a rank to candidates out of a maximum of 1,000 points score. Points are conferred for work experience, educational level, age of the applicant, attachments to the Manitoba province and skill in an official language, along with other parameters.

The Manitoba PNP picks a specified number of candidates who score high and then issues ITAs to them. Once invited, aspirants are able to apply for a Manitoba provincial nomination for Canada PR.

Below are the scores that were required for the two skilled worker programs in this most recent draw:

• Skilled Workers in Manitoba category requires 525 points score
• Skilled Workers Overseas category requires 611 points score

Skilled Worker Overseas Category & Skilled Worker in Manitoba Category

The Skilled Worker Overseas Category permits the MPNP to pick and nominate immigrant skilled workers who can better support Manitoba province’s labor market.

Candidates need to have an established attachment to Manitoba such as nearby family or friends, prior education or work experience in Manitoba province, or an invitation from one of Manitoba’s Strategic Recruitment Initiatives, among other specifications. They do not require being in Manitoba province while submitting their application to qualify.

The 27 contestants invited by the Skilled Workers Overseas category were invited by the Manitoba’s Strategic Recruitment Initiative.

Contestants invited by the Skilled Workers in Manitoba Category need to be working in the province Manitoba and have a permanent, full-time employment offer a Manitoba employer, among other specifications.

International Education Category

Graduates from Manitoba colleges or Universities with in-demand abilities may receive Invitation below the International Education Category. This stream comprises 3 sub-categories: 

Student Entrepreneur Pathway;

Graduate Internship Pathway; and

Career Employment Pathway;
