Many American Offers Support To Low Skilled Visa Program

Many American have developed understanding that there is need for the skilled labour in the US and they have stated that they have supported the visa program for the physically demanding work for the immigrants.. However, most people did not know that such work visas are in short supply, as per polling. Researchers also have found that nearing to 78% of the respondent held a favorable view of legal immigration and nearly 60% of them said they thought U.S would benefit out of it.  And needed legal immigrants to do labor with little or no training involved. .

As per the current US immigration policy, we find fewer numbers of  visas are made available to legal  immigrants for the  low skilled occupations, including those in agriculture, construction and few hospitality services. The US govt caps the only permanent, year round visa for low skilled worker at 5000 anually, as  per the Migration Policy Institute.  The result states that employers have often hired the unauthorized workers in larger number in order to do jobs which often does require large amount of physical labor.

We find the US employs estimated around 8.4 million undocumented immigrants. Fewer the segments of the economy such as agriculture it is almost entirely dependent upon the unauthorized labor according to Hill.

The immigration works USA has found that 86% of the people polled have said that he legal immigrants have made an important contribution to the US economy and the same percent  said issuing more work visas for the low skilled jobs which would allow the immigrants to pay the taxes. The respondents were twice as likely to say that they have understood that the jobs immigrants were taking were not jobs desired as opposed to taking jobs away from the American workers.

Researchers have also discovered that majority of the respondents harbored the negative feel towards the undocumented immigrants and they were often confused with regards to questions about the legal immigration with the debate over the illegal immigration. We have repeatedly needed to remind the participants who were talking about and redirect the discussion back to legal immigration” researchers have noted.

The polls have highlighted few Americans Misperceptions about the legal immigration. For instance, one in the two respondents have said that they thought the US already had a system for the immigrants to obtain work visas for the low skilled occupations.

As per the other recent polling, it has been found the Americans have sharply divided on the topic of US immigration reform along the party lines.  

About 86% of  Iowa democrats have stated that, US must offer undocumented immigrants living in US, a chance to apply for the permanent residency, as opposed to just 34% of the Republicans.
