Moncton Needs 1700 Immigrants Over Each Fiscal Year

Moncton, a Canadian city, is significantly trying to attract more number of immigrants to settle in the city over the next 10 years.

Moncton has published an immigration strategy which unveils that count of immigrants moved to the city is more when compared to any other city in the region.  

The city has outlined a plan to lure more immigrants to migrate to Moncton over the next ten years. They are planning to attract 500 to 1700 new migrants over each fiscal year.

Engaging broad community shareholders in attracting, holding and incorporating immigrants in labor force and determining the importance of immigration in the success of Moncton are the best parts of the strategy.

The key goals are mainly focused on three aspects which include luring more number of immigrants, withholding & unification measures and reinforcing immigrant entrepreneurship and business groups.

Kevin Silliker, Director of Economic Development of Moncton, said that, a considerable growth in population is observed during the past 5-15 years. He added that, if this significant growth continues then definitely immigration would be the very important factor for the growth of economy.
