A vast number of new jobs are expected to be created over the coming years as the market for green energy booms. Canadian government’s goal is to create 50,000 new jobs in the sector, with 20,000 of these set to appear over the next five years.
Workers are required to manufacture wind turbines, and in the wider construction, engineering, maintenance and IT sectors to make Canada’s green energy dream become a reality.
The province of Ontario is leading the way with major plans in progress to make it one of the green energy producing centers of North America. By 2020, the country is planning to be running on 90 per cent non-emitting energy.
The targets and the investment have been welcomed by major players in Canada’s industry such as Siemens, Pattern Energy and Samsung C&T, which could all create jobs for Canadian visa holders looking to work in Canada in order to make the most of the green energy drive.
The country already welcomes skilled workers from overseas through its points-based Canada immigration system, which enables young, skilled and educated people to gain Canadian work visas with ease.
