Malaysia is inviting millionaires to settle down in the country, offering them `My Second Home' program. The program is open to those above and below 50 years of age. The aim of the new immigration program is obviously to usher in a multicultural society in conformity with the country's growing economic clout.
The Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) visa is for those who can afford it. Those under 50 must show proof of RM500,000 in cash and an income of RM10,000 p.m. Those above 50 must possess RM350,000 liquid assets and a regular income of RM10,000. Those who are already in the country and have invested at least RM1m are eligible even if they have lesser income.
Eligible applicants will be given `a conditional approval letter'. The applicant and his dependents will have to be in good health and must possess medical insurance.
The MM2H program is mainly aimed at retirees seeking the warmer climate in Malaysia.
