Immigration department of Canada has newly changed the requirements pertaining to employer’s application for Temporary Work Permit according to which employers, who hire full time, permanent foreign workers, have to receive a positive Labor Market Opinion (LMO) as a replacement for Arranged Employment Opinion (AEO).
Earlier, the employers could use LMOs as a support for Temporary Work Permit. But now, the employers can use positive permanent LMO as a support for applications under Temporary Work Permit as well as Permanent Residency.
Employers have to receive an LMO, in order to attain a work permit for the foreign employees. To accomplish this, employers have to successfully exhibit that they are unable to find either the citizens of Canada or the permanent residents of the country to fill the vacant position.
The process remains same for the employers, who intend to have LMO for both permanent and temporary positions. In case, the LMO is for employment on permanent basis, employer has to mention the same in the application form.
