The woman who is most talked these days when it comes to immigration is the UK Home Secretary Ms. Amber Rudd. Her latest victims are International students, as she is looking forward to change the rules for International Students who wish to pursue their Education in UK. In her recent meeting she announced that, “student immigration rules should be tailored to the course and the institution offering it.” Her statements are receiving different reactions from every corner.
One among the best responses is from Mr. Julian Gravatt, Assistant Chief Executive of the Association of Colleges (AoC), he responded to her statements saying, “Colleges have educated International students from decades and, although many are not involved at all, around 160 have highly Trusted Status. International activity in colleges contributes to UK exports and helps sector widen the horizons of its students. The Home office already use Ofsted (Office for Standards in Education) ratings to decide college eligibility but this is problematic because existing Ofsted inspections don’t at the moment cover international courses. International students are interested in the quality of the particular course or department they enroll in, so it is good that Home Secretary mentions this aspect as well. AoC will work with the officials in detail.”
