The government New Zealand has published a latest employer-led visa model for temporary international skilled workers. To streamline and reduce complexity, the latest visa process will substitute six visa classes and will also enable lower-paid workers to get their family members to New Zealand.
New Zealand has declared some notable reforms to the process of providing temporary work visas.
The current visa rules will transpire in the initiation of a latest employer-led visa framework which strives to make the process of application easier, both for candidates and businesses.
Immigration Minister of New Zealand Iain Lees-Galloway states the latest arrangements would assist approximately 30,000 companies in filling skill deficits.
Another development that will come into force in 2020 will restore the capability of lower-paid workers to get their family members to New Zealand.
Immigration experts said that the ‘new move’ will notably influence the prospects of international workers agreeable to permanently live in the nation. It is a massive transformation that will change the lives of many immigrant workers and also their family members.
This process is usually correlated to work to residency pathway. But it need not be mixed with the work visa of general skilled. This is another pathway which is employer-supported and there is no cap for this class.
Experts said that most ‘important’ reform is the rise in the yearly salary limit for the employer-associated Talent Work Visa. The candidates in this category need to satisfy the yearly salary limit which has now risen from NZD 55,000 to NZD 79,560 and this will apply to appeals obtained from 7 October 2019, regardless of when the firm became accredited.
Mr. Iain Lees-Galloway told the new model will need all businesses to be accredited and will give businesses more certainty about their capacity to hire an international worker ahead in the process of application.
It will also give the international worker with more confidence about the organization they are arriving to work for and the job that they are approaching to do, he told.
