Nova Scotia conducted its initial Labour Market Priorities stream draw in three months on 4 September 2019, inviting 204 Express Entry applicants to appeal for a nomination of the province for Canada PR.
The Labour Market Priorities Stream enables the Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP) to explore the pool of Express Entry for qualified applicants who match recognized labor market demands in the province.
Since its launch in the year 2018, the stream has issued invitations to early childhood education workers, accountants, financial auditors and also to French-speaking Express Entry applicants.
This recent draw focused on Express Entry applicants who had selected French as their primary official language and have a score of Canadian Language Benchmark 8 or above in French in all language capabilities (writing, reading, speaking and listening).
Selected applicants also had to have a CLB score of minimum 6 or above in English in all four language skills and holding a bachelor’s degree or a three years program completed or more at a college, university, trade or technical school.
A Nova Scotia Nominee Program spokesperson told that there was no least Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score demand.
A CRS score defines the rank of the candidate in the pool of Federal Express Entry and is based on several parameters such as the age of the principal applicant, educational background, skilled work experience and knowledge in the languages of English or French, among others.
Express Entry applicants with a nomination of the province will get an additional 600 CRS points towards their score, finally guaranteeing an invitation to appeal for Canadian PR.
Applicants who got a Letter of Invitation in the current draw now have 30 calendar days to present a comprehensive application to the Nova Scotia Nominee Program.
