Nova Scotia PNP: Issues ITAs to Nurses with Profiles in Express Entry Pool

Enrolled nurses with profiles in the Canadian Express Entry pool were invited to appeal for a Nova Scotia provincial nomination in the most recent PNP draw. Nova Scotia Province held the latest Provincial Nominee (PNP) Program draw on 22 May 2020, inviting nurses to apply for a Nova Scotia provincial nomination for Canada PR.

The Nova Scotia Nominee (N.S.N.P) Program announced the details of eligibility requirements for the draw but didn't say how many applicants were invited.

Applicants need to have a minimum of three years of work experience as an authorized nurse or authorized psychiatric nurse, which is NOC 3012 in the Canadian National Occupational Classification list.

There is also a Canada's Language Benchmark (CLB) score condition of minimum 8 or above in English or French in all language skills. They were also demanded to hold a bachelor’s degree or have finished a post-secondary program for a minimum of 3 years.

When appealing for the nomination, applicants need to include copies of their language examinations, and evidence of education comprising an Educational Credential (ECA) Assessment report given by a selected organization if the degree or diploma was received at an international institute.

Applicants invited from Federal Express Entry Pool

To be considered for a Nova Scotia provincial nomination by the Labour Market Priorities Stream, applicants first require to have a profile in the Federal Express Entry system.

Express Entry controls applications for Canadian PR through three federal immigration programs:

  • Federal Skilled Worker (F.S.W.P) Program
  • Federal Skilled Trades (F.S.T.P) Program, and
  • Canadian Experience Class (C.E.C).

Express Entry applicants are ranked based on the Comprehensive Ranking (C.R.S) System. They are granted points based on human capital factors such as their skilled work experience, age, educational level, and language proficiency in English or French.

Now that Nova Scotia has announced invitations to apply, also identified as Letters of Interest, invited applicants now have 60 calendar days to finish their application for a Nova Scotia provincial nomination.
