Ontario Accepting Applications From Global Doctors To Fight Coronavirus

Foreign medical graduates who have previously given and passed their tests to practice their medicine in Canada or who are graduated from a school of medicine in the preceding two years now have the chance to apply for a temporary license that will sanction them to work in the Ontario province.

The College of Surgeons and Physicians of Ontario is presently permitting applicants who have not yet received a Canadian status of medical residency to apply for the Supervised Certificates for Short term duration.

These special certificates will allow or permit immigrant medical graduates to practice in the Ontario province for a period of 30 days, with the chance to continue working for a more extended time if their temporary license is allowed for renewal.

Eligibility Criteria

Appellants for the supervised 30-day license certificate they must have:

• Graduated from a Canadian medical school, the U.S. medical school or a school that was, at the time of graduation, registered in the World Medical Schools Directory.
• Practiced medicine, graduated from a medical school or passed the Medical Council of Canada examinations in the last two years.
• Secured a job in a working hospital, psychiatric department or for a Crown agency.
• Found a doctor and ready to act as their supervisor.

In order to appeal, the College of Surgeons and Physicians of Ontario demands confirmation of the job straight from the hospital, this is being sent to [email protected].

Certificates have been declared since the prior month, however, few physicians have appealed, as per Canada's Broadcasting Corporation report. 10 out of the 12 physicians who are applied before 3 April 2020 were got certificates by this specific program.
