Ontario Immigration: Invites 667 Express Entry Skilled Trades Candidates

Ontario provincial immigration has attended its biggest Skilled Trades draw of the year 2019, announcing Notifications of Interest to 667 applicants with a profile in the Federal Express Entry Pool.

The 11 December 2019 draw was the first beneath the Skilled Trades stream since March 2019. It leads to the entire number of Skilled Trades Notifications of Interest issued in the year 2019 to 1,399.

To be eligible for this latest draw, applicants need to have provided their Express Entry profiles within 11 December 2018 and 11 December 2019.

Ontario Express Entry: Skilled Trades Category

The Ontario's Express Entry Skilled Trades Category aims at skilled trades workers in the agricultural and construction sectors but could be increased in the future.

To be eligible candidates need to have:

• Pending application beneath the Canadian Express Entry system;
• A minimum of 12 months of paid combined or continuous work experience in the province of Ontario with the last couple of years prior to your NOI in National Occupation Classification code 633, or principal groups 72, 73 or 82;
• Evidence of certification or license from Ontario if your profession requires the same;
• A genuine work permit and must be a resident in Ontario province at the time of application;
• Canada Language Benchmark (C.L.B) 5 or above in writing, reading, speaking and listening in the languages of English or French;
• Settlement fund Proof to cover your and your dependent's expenses.

18 draws conducted by Ontario in 2018, with a sum of 1,626 ITAs issued to Skilled Trades applicants. This stream has no minimum point’s criteria.

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee (OINP) Program started announcing information about particular draws at the commencement of 2018. Ontario also attends draws for its Human Capital Priorities stream, Entrepreneur Stream, and French-Speaking Skilled Worker stream throughout the year.
