Opposition On Denmark Immigration Law

Demonstrations were held to protest against the new immigration laws requiring relatives of Danish residents to earn a minimum number of points in order to qualify for residency. These were organized through a Facebook initiative by the interest group, Ægteskab uden Grænser (Marriage without Borders), which encouraged its 16,000 Facebook fans to spread the word about the gatherings.

“Denmark’s immigration policy is being tightened again. We can’t breathe. With the new family reunification rules, Denmark is introducing a social apartheid that allows only the richest and the best-educated qualify for residence. Love has no borders and therefore we oppose the mad tightening measures.”

The demonstrations were held in three largest cities of Denmark.
