Over 1000 Canadian Super Visas Issued Every Month

Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism Minister Jason Kenney, announced today that over 20,000 Parent and Grandparent Super Visas have been issued since the program’s launch in December 2011.

He said “The government is committed to family reunification, and the Super Visa provides families with the flexibility to spend longer periods of time with loved ones. It’s an innovative way of giving parents and grandparents the freedom to travel back and forth between Canada and their home country, helping them stay connected with families and friends both in Canada and at home, without the hassle of having to reapply every time.”

More than 1,000 Super Visas are being issued every month since Super visas were introduced. This Visa now is one of the most popular Visas issued by CIC. The approval rate is over 85.

The Super Visa is a multiple entry visa with validity of 10 years. Holders of this visa can stay in Canada for a period of 2 years per visit.

The process for obtaining Super Visa for a Parent or a Grandparent is simple & easy.

Citizens and Permanent Resident can sponsor this visa for their parents and grandparents under Super Visa Category.

The criteria to sponsor Parents and Grandparents under Super Visa category is as follows.

1. The host should have a minimum level of Income and pledge financial support.

2. The visitors should have a comprehensive Canadian Medical Insurance with a minimum validity of one year.

3. The visitor should exhibit that he/she is in good health by undergoing the requirements outlined by CIC at an approved hospital.

As on date almost 99% of Super Visa applicants who met the above mentioned requirements were approved.
