Prince Edward Island Province has conducted 3 Provincial Nominee Program (P.N.P) draws since novel coronavirus measures that were put in place.
For these 3 draws the Provincial Nominee Program of Prince Edward Island (PEI PNP) only invited applicants from the PEI Labour Impact and PEI Express Entry categories who were working in a primary service such as healthcare or trucking. PEI Business Impact applicants are usually also involved in PEI Expression of Interest (E.O.I) draws, but they were not a component of the past 3 draws.
As a consequence, only 29 applicants were announced with invitations to apply for a PEI provincial nomination throughout the 3 draws. Generally PEI PNP draws announce above 100 invitations over the three streams.
On 23 March 2020, a sum of 5 applicants was invited to apply for a PEI provincial nomination. Then on 27 April 2020 there was a sum of 10 candidates was invited to apply for a PEI provincial nomination. Finally on 15 May 2020, there were 14 applicants invited to apply for a PEI provincial nomination.
This stream is joined with the Canadian government’s Federal Express Entry System, which handles the applications for 3 economic class immigration categories:
To be counted for a PEI provincial nomination, Express Entry applicants need to build an Expression of Interest (EOI) profile with the PNP of PEI. EOI profiles are awarded points that depend on the province’s sole points grid. The highest-scoring applicants are then invited to apply by monthly draws.
The PNP of PEI did not provide a breakdown of how many candidates in the Express Entry and Labour Impact were invited, nor the least EOI score needed for each stream.
Candidates in this stream were also invited to apply for a PEI Provincial Nomination in the past three draws.
This category of immigration is for international citizens who have a valid employment offer in the PEI province and also have support from their organization. It is classified into three streams:
Applicants in this stream must also provide an EOI profile to be recognized for a provincial nomination by the Labour Impact stream.
No invitations were announced to applicants in the Business Impact Stream. The Work Permit Stream is for business people who intend to own and run a business in the PEI province.
