Philippines Likely To Receive One Fourth Million Indian Travelers By 2016

In a bid to woo more travelers from India, the Philippines, is planning to ease visa requirements. The country is anticipating that India would be one amongst the top five major source markets for travelers to visit Philippines by 2016. 

At present India is the 10^th major source of visitors travelling to the Philippines following Germany.

 The Tourism Secretary of Philippines, Ramon R Jimenez Jr, said that India is going to be one amongst the top five largest source markets for the Philippines by 2016.

He said that the Philippines likely to receive one fourth million of travelers from India by the end of 2016.

He also added that, the government is taking necessary steps to boost the tourist’s number. The country’s main aim is to boost outbound and inbound travelers between India and the Philippines.

The major steps that are taken into consideration to boost tourism from India are easing visa rules, travel facilitation, as well as improving connectivity between the two nations.

He further added that the Philippines, is looking at the prospect of lifting visa requirements for Indians on a trial basis for the period of 2015-16.

The tourism secretary also said that generally, travelers who visit Philippines come by air and reside for approximately 10 to 11 days for each stay with the average spend for person to around up to $3,000.

The Department of Tourism for Philippines has announced 2015 as Visit the Philippines Year with invitation to enjoy more exciting places in Philippines.
