Potential Sponsors Need To Submit Applications For Canada's PGP Program

The Canadian Government has completed announcing invitations to possible sponsors to its
Program of Parents and Grandparents — and those called now have 60 days to provide a comprehensive application.
Known as the P.G.P, the program enables qualified citizens of Canada and Canadian permanent residents above the age of 18 to sponsor their grandparents and/or parents for
permanent residence to Canada.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (I.R.C.C) has a goal of 20,000 comprehensive applications to the P.G.P for the year 2019.
To be counted for an invitation to appeal to the Program of Parents and Grandparents, enthusiastic people must initially present an Interest to Sponsor form through the yearly submission period in the month of January.
This year, I.R.C.C allowed 27,000 forms of Interest to Sponsor on a first-in, first-served basis through an intake conducted on Jan 28 and interest was so powerful that I.R.C.C achieved its intake quota in shorter than 10 minutes.
Invitations were announced in the corresponding order that I.R.C.C obtained Interest to Sponsor forms, following a review to assure eligibility and eliminate any duplicates.
I.R.C.C started announcing invitations on Apr 24 and finished the process on Apr 27.
Curious sponsors who were invited to appeal have only 60 days from the date they got their invitation to present a comprehensive application, along with all supporting documentation.
If you successfully presented the form of Interest to Sponsor and didn't get an invitation, I.R.C.C. announced it will retain your submission and communication information. I.R.C.C.’s website states it may start the interest to sponsor form again in the year 2019 if we require more possible sponsors.
In 2018, I.R.C.C. conducted the second round of invitations to appeal to the P.G.P. at the closing of July and grew its yearly target from the existing 10,000 to 17,000 entire applications.
