The Immigration Officials of British Columbia conducted a draw in their Provincial Nomination Program on May 9^th, 2018. In it 34 candidates received the invitation to apply in the Technology-Only Stream.

The score for EE skilled workers and international graduates, and also the international graduate stream of the province was 91 points. The score for skilled workers was 86 points. Moreover, the entry level and semi-skilled workers were not invited.

Details

The province has launched its B.C. PNP Tech Pilot in 2017, which had a focus to attract skilled workers in 32 specified technology positions. It started to conduct specific PNP draws to attract technology workers since May 2017. There is a change in the policy and the province is aims to benefit from the presence of technology workers. This will also benefit the people who are searching for alternatives after the strict measures adopted by President Trump

Additional facts

Moreover, when the candidates receive the provincial nomination they score additional 600 Comprehensive Ranking System points which is a guarantee to gain selection in the Canada Express Entry System. The Program also publishes the scores which the immigrants have to score to get the invitation for immigration in its programs. The score which an international graduate needs is 30 points lower than a skilled worker under the Canada Express Entry as well as in the provincial stream. The score for entry-level and semi-skilled workers is low.
