Quebec Comprehensive Plan For Quick Immigration Process

A comprehensive plan has been announced by the Ministry of Finance, Quebec to reduce the number of turnarounds as well to quicken the process time for attaining permanent residency in Quebec.

This plan was announced on March 21^st 2012, and this retroactively takes effect from March 20^th 2012. Based on the plan the applicants are divided into eligible categories. Those applicants coming under Group 1 are those who are highly skilled and are diploma holders in fields that Quebec authorities have a dire need for.  It also includes temporary foreign workers as well as other skills that a labor market is in need. Incidentally, there happens to be no restriction as to the number of applicants under this category.

In the case of Group 2 other desired training areas can be included. This includes foreign graduates belonging to Quebec University. The limit of number of applications under this group is 14,300 for the remainder part of 2012. The fee cost for skilled workers applications has gone up to about $750 per principal applicant.

Certain changes have been incorporated in the business class type of immigration. The maximum number of such applications can be about 2700 applications which will actually be received in this coming year. It also includes 215 entrepreneurs as well as self-employed based files.
