Quebec Immigration: Extends Acceptance Certificates Until 31 December 2020

The Quebec Government will automatically extend Quebec's Acceptance Certificates (CAQ) announced to international students if they were fixed to expire within 30 April 2020, and 31 December 2020.

The Ministry of Francization, Immigration, and Integration (M.I.F.I) announced on Thursday 30 April 2020 and announced that the decision was a reply to the worries of its numerous partners in the sector of education during the contemporary COVID-19 pandemic.

These global students can, therefore, apply to the Canadian government as soon as feasible to have their study permit continued without having to add a new CAQ, which will permit them to have a valid status for temporary residence and to finish their study program when their courses restarts, says the government. International students will not be needed to pay any fees for prolonging their CAQ.

The measure declared today does not appeal to students who intend to receive a CAQ for the fall semester or those students who have a CAQ that terminates later 31 December 2020, the ministry announced. Quebec has approximately 90,000 international students. Its global student population has multiplied since 2013.
