Quebec Immigration: Latest Arrima Draw Issues 169 ITAs For Canada PR

Quebec announced latest invitations to appeal for selection below the Program of Quebec Skilled Worker to 169 immigration applicants in its recent draw. Details of the 25 September 2019 draw were published yesterday.

Immigration Ministry of Quebec announced applicants invited in this recent round were among the approximately 16,000 Quebec Skilled Worker Program (Q.S.W.P) applicants who had their original appeals to the program canceled by the passage of changes to Immigration Act of Quebec into law on 16 June 2019.

Further, they were either excluded from the cap that had been there when they initially appealed to the Program of Quebec Skilled Worker or were living in Quebec on a work or study permit on 16 June 2019.

All those invited on 25 September 2019 had an Expression of Interest in the online registration portal of Quebec, Arrima.

Quebec province has presently invited 1,595 Q.S.W.P applicants with an Arrima profile since 4 July 2019.

Details about Arrima

Arrima was launched in the year 2018 to maintain the bank of applicants for the Q.S.W.P later the program was shifted from a paper-based to first-come & first-served application method to a system of Expression of Interest (E.O.I).

The EOI system of Quebec controls the bank of applicants for a Quebec Selection Certificate (CSQ), which is needed to appeal for PR in the province by the Q.S.W.P.

Applicants express their interest by producing a profile in the Arrima, which is then put in the pool of applicants and ranked that depend on either score points or other criteria.

Immigration Ministry of Quebec issues invitations to appeal for a C.S.Q that depends on either applicant's score or other parameters such as labor requirements in the province’s remote regions.

Applicants who obtain a Quebec Selection Certificate can apply for Canada PR with federal immigration ministry of Canada, which tests the admissibility of criminal and medical in general.
