Quebec Immigration: Two Arrima Draws Issues 305 ITAs To Skilled Workers

A total of 305 applicants for Quebec immigration received invitations to apply over two Arrima draws that conducted in December 2019.

In the most recent draw that held on 17 December 2019, a total of 220 invitations to apply given to candidates who provided their application below Quebec province’s Regular Skilled Worker Program.

These applicants were either excluded from the cap that had been in the place when they initially applied to Quebec's Regular Skilled Worker Program or they were living in Quebec on a study permit or work permit on 16 June 2019 when approximately 16,000 applications for Regular Skilled Worker Program were canceled.

Earlier in December 2019, Quebec province invited 85 applicants to apply to the permanent selection. There were two types of applicants in the 12 December cohort. Either they had a valid employment offer, or they were living in the Quebec province carrying out regular duties as diplomats, intergovernmental organizations representatives, or consular officers among others.

Since the beginning of the Arrima system in July 2019, Quebec province has conducted 9 draws and invited 2062 applicants to apply for a Quebec's Selection Certificate (CSQ).

Quebec's Arrima

Arrima was launched in 2018 to control the bank of applicants for the Quebec’s Skilled Worker Program after the program was changed from a paper-based “first-come, first-served” application method to an Expression of Interest (E.O.I) system.

Quebec province’s EOI system controls the bank of applicants for a Quebec Selection Certificate (CSQ), which is needed to apply for PR in the province by the QSWP.

Applicants show their interest by producing a profile in the Arrima, which is then put in the pool of applicants and given with rank based on either their score or other criteria.

Quebec province’s Immigration Ministry announces invitations to apply for a C.S.Q based on either an applicant score or other parameters such as labor requirements in the province’s regions.

Applicants who obtain a CSQ can apply for Canada PR which tests medical and criminal eligibility.
